Noises
With each bang, crash and yell I jump. And each time you look at me like I'm a freak. And you'll never understand. You'll never understand how ruthless and unforgiving triggers are, you may know my name but not my story. You will never hear the noise in my head. It's screaming like a freight train But I can't do anything. I sit there. In a chair praying a prayer I was forced to mutter when I was younger. A prayer that I wouldn't be me, a prayer that said I cannot be me. And each damn day I uttered the words. Each one chaining me down, and each time I did, they got tighter and tighter So now I live with marks on my wrists. All because of those chains. But I made a choice, I could either keep them on, hide the marks. Or, break them, like my heart when you tied me down, and wear the marks with pride. And sing a song, Not one that says to hide, But to cry. Cry all the tears you never let fall. Cry for all those who let kept their chains. Cry for those who couldn't make it. Cry for everyone they beat till they were nothing. And don't whisper this, shout it. So that when they try to drown you out, yhry can't. They will hear our voices. They will never hold us down anymore. So I am asking you to see through the noise
