No Time
-Gazi Rahman (20 June 2025) No time — to say I love you, dear country, And then squeeze your throat in the name of care, like a hypocrite. No time — to delight one child in your name, While destroying the home of another, still calling it love. No time — to whisper love for you, Then disappear silently into the night without looking back. No Time, O My Country Even if I whisper a hundred times, “I love you,” And scream a hundred more, “I despise you!” Even if my heart burns With rage and pain— Still, I shall return to your soil, Again and again. In your dust, I was born. In your arms, I shall lie. For love and hate may war within me, But never shall I say goodbye.
