"No One Leaves Home"
- A Poem for World Refugee Day 2025. No one leaves home unless home is the mouth of a shark. Unless the ground beneath your feet trembles with fire, and your lullabies turn to sirens screaming through the night. We are the barefoot dreamers, the lost and found, the mothers who carry nations in their arms, the children with paper boats hoping they float toward peace. You call us refugees- but we are more than our fleeing. our voices stitched with courage, our lives rewritten in every language of survival and hope. Do not look at us with pity, but with promise. For every tent is a seed, and every camp, a cradle for the world we still believe in. On this day- World Refugee Day, light a candle not for our sorrow, but for our strength. Because even in exile, we carry the flame of what it means to be human. Would you like a version tailored to your own experience or for public use in a community event? _Ro Amaan
