Night's Reflection
Midnight's hush, a velvet sky above, My gaze ascends, to distant stars I love. On weathered wood, a lonely vigil kept, The night's embrace, where silent memories slept. My eyelids fall, the night's sweet perfume near, Pine-scented air, a whisper in my ear. Crickets chirp, a gentle breeze takes flight, Shivering slightly, in the fading light. Lost in thought, a memory takes hold, A gift recalled, a story to unfold. Crimson heart-shaped paper, gently tied, A precious token, held deep inside. Unwrapped with care, the chocolate's dark gleam, Melted slowly, a delicious dream. A fingertip trace, a taste so sweet and mild, A moment savored, a treasure reconciled. Tears trace a path, down cheeks so softly pale, Sweet memories surface, a nostalgic tale. Happy moments cherished, from a time gone by, In the heart's still chamber, where sweet memories lie.
