Nigeria my country
Nigeria my country, unraveled, lies the bonds of unity that once did bind the fabric of a piece that once did rise in love and honesty for the fight of freedom's call now turn apart, by discord's grind Nigeria our country we changed from father's land to mother's land yet we struggle, with the heritage so grand for in our service untold slavery the promise of greatness, that once did abound now fades to whispers of a future unbound The dreams of our Fathers now becomes tears for our mothers the hope that once burned bright now turned sorrows dark the future they envisioned, in shadows now does lie and Nigeria children weep, with tears that won't dry Now we Japa like Ijapa, lost and worn with weary steps, in search of who to scam Nigeria my country, when would you rise again from ashes of despair to greatness regain when will your children, with hope, look up to thee and in your future, a brighter dawn see when will your leaders, with wisdom, guide the way and Nigeria's glory in a new dawn's ray? May your children soon find peace and prosperity and your future shine with love and unity
