Nicotine
I have an addiction it's one my friends have already scolded me for when she calls my name, I do my best to ignore I've tried to get clean but no matter how hard I try, it's one I can't beat I just can't ignore my nicotine Even though she toys with my heart and makes me a nervous wreck she's a tight rope around my neck her voice wakes me at night covered in heartbroken sweat I can't get her voice out of my head I love my nicotine Even if she doesn't love me the same Even though she makes my chest heavy and ache I know I need to set this love down. It's nothing but a cancer But I know if she calls me I have to answer I tried to quit cold turkey and set her aside But I relapse with just a look From the first time I heard her soft voice, I was hooked Yes, I know she'll hurt me just like the many times before I can't break the habit when she brings me peace, no one else can "What do you see in her?" they ask me "What about that girl appeals to you?" she's my nicotine
