Nicky..
July 2nd — cold & stuffy You were there Wrapped around in a dirty blanket Cold and shaking Yet I still patted you down to sleep You looked peaceful You looked innocent And there I was already emotionally invested Couldn't leave you alone You looked like there was no one home "Nicky" — your new name Felt amazing to name A puppy no one knew Asked to babysit? By who? Ran you a bath, you whimpered And there I was seeing you and me Together in a future no one knew Me and Nicky, Me and You Oh how I wish it was true After a few hours, you were due "Can I have my puppy back?" Your owner said "Don't take him," I said Wanted to cry All those hours we spent felt amazing and new "Hope he saw the way back here" Here, your new home Nicky and Happy all alone Nicky and me, Happy and free Nicky with those blue eyes waiting for me Cold and shaking Dirty or not Soaked or dry You're already mine
