New Friendship
In the wake of loss, you entered my life, A sudden presence, easing the strife. Uncertain feelings swirl within me, Grateful yet wary, can't help but see. You filled the void where once she stood, But fear lingers, misunderstood. I try to guard my heart from pain, Yet warmth from your friendship remains. With each passing day, my fondness grows, Hope blossoms, as friendship flows. Yet shadows lurk, doubts arise, Will you depart, to my surprise? Thankful for your presence, yet afraid, That one day, you'll turn away. Instead of kindness, eyes filled with ire, Leaving me alone in this mire. So I cherish the moments, hold them tight, Praying our bond withstands the night. For though uncertainty clouds my mind, I'll treasure your friendship, one of a kind.
