New days of school
New shoes squeak on shiny floor, Big backpack bumps against the door. A nervous smile, a shaky hand, Entering a brand new land. Faces strange, a buzzing sound, Looking for a spot to sit down. Teacher's voice, so kind and clear, Whispering away the fear. Colors bright, a story read, New friends found, words are said. Lunchbox open, sharing treats, Little worries, tiny defeats. Bell rings loud, the day is done, Running home beneath the sun. First day over, a happy sigh, Ready for tomorrow, by and by.
