Nevertheless
I have prayed prayers that came back with miracles in their hands. And I have prayed prayers that returned in silence. Both taught me something about You. Because it’s easy to call You good when the door opens, when the sickness leaves, when the phone rings with the news we hoped for. But who are You when heaven feels quiet? When the same words fall from my mouth night after night and nothing in my life moves? This is the place no one talks about. The place where faith has no audience. Where I must decide if You are still kind without the evidence. Miracles taught me that You can. Unanswered prayers taught me that You are. And maybe prayer was never only about results. Maybe it is the slow work of keeping my heart open even when my hands are empty. Because some days You calm the storm. And some days You sit with me in it and call that love. So I am learning, to measure Your faithfulness not by what changed around me but by what is being held together inside me. Even here. Especially here.
