Neverending Fight
Fighting a never ending war With demons both near and far Out in the plains or within Holding against what's creeping in Despite being exhausted I must endure Even if my body battered, my soul slowly crippled I'll push on, ward off, fend the fiends For that's the only solution, the only cure Bruised, scarred, seriously wounded Yet I must stand firm for I can only do it No cure, remedy, or a recovery method I'll face a thousands more, swinging based on instinct Eventhough the odds are overwhelming I'm my own castle, standing my ground A warrior stabbed, slashed, and cut But will fight back, lashing out for blood For I'm the only one who can hold this fort No matter how tired, numb, broken I look I'll continue to ward and fend, holding them off Even if my state hinders me both body and soul This fight I fought has no victory nor defeat Just surviving every onslaught brings me peace Despite my body battered, my soul drained I will not let the demons take a hold of me For I dread the day that comes they do Driving me aground no matter how firm I hold Breaking my sword and shield, my will to fight Because that day will be the one where they'll take my soul, my life
