Never To Bloom
In a peaceful, quiet place A sprout was growing Which, one day Would bloom a rose to the morning It's spikes slowly grew To protect it from any pest Prevent it from being eaten Not have to worry about the rest Rain fell, winds blew The flower kept on waiting For a perfect light to shine And show the world a beautiful thing One day, a bird came by It sang greaceful sounds Songs that filled the area Bringing a comfort with no bounds The plant could hear it Mumbled from the leaves Such things it never heard Sounded like deep mysteries That bird came back Ever in a few days Bringing the same, peculiar tune Hitted in different, yet same ways One day, that sprout decided it That it was finally time To open it's leaves And embrace the shine But when it tried It was uncertain Such a harsh light So bright it hurted A few seconds passed The Sun felt like a burn Such pain it couldn't endure Making the plant return Now, it just stays there A sprout so scared, hurted Never to open again Afraid of being burned It'll lay there forever Forever to be alone In such a beautiful land For all to bloom except one
