Nasheed,
In a life of a muslim, I dream, Of a love devout, a sacred stream. A man who carries me, his heart pure, Reciting verses, serene and sure. Yet fear creeps in, a silent thief, Stealing the peace, causing grief. What if he strays, what if he leaves? These worries haunt, like autumn leaves. I long to trust, to let love in, But past wounds whisper, "don't." So I choose solitude, a shield I wear, To protect my heart, from despair. But oh, the ache, the yearning deep, For a love that's true, that I can keep. Though I haven't met him, yet I fear, Losing him, before he's near. These fears, they grip, they hold me tight, But still, I dream, of love's pure light. Praying for courage, to let love in, To embrace the joy, and banish sin.
