Mythological Hypocrisy
The future looks jaded And I've never learned to shade the colors For the flowers on this easel Mitigating cruel motives Does this myth make any sort of sense Blinded by fear Kicked into first gear It's in one ear and out the other But when we're not together Is it ever us Does this myth make any sort of sense People watching Always observing Never conforming The rain It's pouring over our head But it's okay As long as I'm with you Until our hearts conscious efforts fail to thrive I'll be there to see you survive another day Even if it means I have to turn away To some opportunities that could of made Any sort of difference But I'll ask you one more time Does this myth make any sense
