Myself In The Mirror
In the mirror's silvered depths, I confront my stare, A stranger, yet intimately known, with all my masked despair. "Hey, you," I whisper, "how do you fare? Can you hear me, amidst the din of life's cacophony, I dare?" I plead for a moment's truce, a glimpse behind the veil, To unravel the enigma, the labyrinthine tale. "Is this who you aspire to be, or merely a masquerade? A shadow of potential, or a life that's truly made?" Do you still clasp the dreams that once burned like fire, Or have they drowned in the quagmire of fear and desire? What's the compass that guides you, through life's labyrinthine way? Is it the whispers of the world, or a still, small voice that says, "Stay"? Who are the kindred spirits, that people your inner circle's ring? Do they lift you higher, or weigh you down with their suffering? Who do you turn to, in the dark of night, When the stars are hidden, and the shadows take flight? Do you believe in the masterpiece, that you are, unfinished? Do you know your worth, beyond the metrics of this world's din? Or do you surrender to the voices, that whisper, "You're not enough"?
