My Writing
Oh, it was a laugher on first draft, And it was my serious work, not humor. A poem difficult to craft; With data-facts and not just rumor. And, I had to pare it down; Reduce it's size, yet, tell the story. So, there could be no hero's crown; No great love, no path to glory. I worked and scribbled for some hours, To get the poem to "perfect" size. I shaped it so that it empowered, But had no hero actualized. Upon review of what I'd penned, (I critiqued my work: Boy, it was short!) But with no beginning and no end; In fact, it was a news report!
