My Wrists tell a Story
My wrists tell a story The scars and cuts laced with gold Moments that are never forgotten Their reasons deeply embroidered into my skin Leaving a message A memory. My eyes show humor Stare long enough and you'll see the truth The tears that have been forced away The deep ocean of sadness and guilt All covered by a wall of happiness To hide what's underneath My smile shows joy Reminding people I'm happy and not down To make sure they don't ask if I'm okay It suppresses a scream of help Forcing it down Forever lingering in my throat but never happens Different things hide different pains My mouth hides a scream My eyes hide tears My wrists tell a story.
