MY UNSEEN FUTURE
i wake up each morning tangled in the same sheets, the scent of yesterday’s tears still clinging to my skin. the mirror reflects a stranger, a ghost of who I wanted to be — frozen in disappointment, stuck in a cycle that spins me fake smiles, handing out excuses like candy, while my heart wears a mask, hiding the void that echoes the love I fear I’ll lose. my silence screams, “you’re failing,” and my little boys chase shadows, growing up on crumbs of me, wondering why I’m not whole. the ache in my chest is heavy, a reminder that I’m still human, but all I can feel is hollow, watching my hopes drift away — in this space where the unknown feels more familiar than faith, I yearn for answers in silhouettes that linger just beyond reach.
