My Special Girl
I can feel my muscles breaking down. I wonder if I'll decompose in this bed. I fall to the floor to see my mom's frown, and wish it was this body I could shed. I can feel my nerves tingle as they take my X-ray. They tell me my body is too fickle, my nerves will start to fray. My mom tells me we're special. If I was special, I'd be able to stand tall. I'm stuck inside of this lowly vessel. I can't even stand at all. I can't remember the last time I ran without the fear of losing a part of myself. I let it slide through my hands. Now I stare as it sits on my shelf.
