MY SLEEP PARALYSIS
I wake, but I don't wake, Caught in the cracks where the shadows shake, Eyes open wide, but my body's on break, Every breath feels stolen, every heartbeat fake. The room stays still, but the darkness creeps, A silent visitor while the whole world sleeps, I scream in my head, but the sound runs deep, Buried beneath fear that I can't defeat. Pinned to the mattress, trapped in a spell, Somewhere between heaven and a private hell, The clock ticks slow like a funeral bell, And every second's a story I never could tell. I fight for a finger, a twitch, a sign, Trying to prove that this body is mine, But the night wraps chains around my spine, And turns every minute into borrowed time.
