My roses by midnight flame
Don't tell me the truth,-I beg ,I plead It's thrones, not roses, that I bleed Keep the curtains drawn, and the mirrors cracked I'd rather dream than face the fact. I cradle the pain in velvet palms I whisper the pain to ignorant ears, the pain doesn't scream -it hums. A brutal cycle, hymn that lives. Ignorance is bliss they said with a kiss, as each Rose slipped out of my grasp . One came back but two forever gone. And you.. you with your wandering light Your shadow's growing out of sight New voices call And you turn your head while I'm left in the silence unsaid. I reach, I wave, I quote, I try But you still reach for stars in someone else's sky You bloom, you laugh.you live anew while I sit - a fading hue Others said to let you grow, but I still feel out of row I tried and tried yet what is left , is hope for the best
