My Rolls-Royce
My life was a wreck, spinning out of control I got out, got up, got my life out the hole Reviewed the footage, made a plan Learned from my mistakes the best I can Took a minute but I thought I was good Thought I had taken all the steps that I should I had my plan and was moving right along Wouldn't listen to anyone who told me I was wrong I moved from rental to rental not making a choice But being with you was like driving a rolls royce We went out a couple times, like extended test drives And I couldn't deny, I've never felt more alive Wanted to make you mine, but I had no money And well a rolls royce is expensive honey I couldn't commit but we grew closer on the phone I made the jump and took out a loan You were mine now even if just for a while I knew if I kept the payments, you'd keep my smile And it held true As long as I worked on my myself, I knew I'd have you But im not broke anymore And happiness is now something I can afford We called the courthouse and made the plunge And it's the best thing I've ever done I totaled my car before, and it totalled me But without that crash, I'd never have learned to see Who I am and who I need to be I'd have never seen the treasure right
