My Piece of the Universe
I stared at him from across the room. I watched from afar wanting to get close but fearing the rejection that may come with it. The sun danced in his eyes. The brown like deserts I was destined to reach the ends of. His skin soft to the touch like the highest quality of feathers. His smile pure with the innocence of a baby animal. Filled with the happiness I yearned to give him from the palms of my hand. His hair once a beautiful black and now a blue that exceeds the tides. His soul bright orange like the sun that was formed into his personality. His arms wrap around me like vines and I feel at home. Safe with a man for the first time. At peace with nature and a part of me wants to never leave the comfort. The radiance of a person should be illegal to that standard but here he is. As free and open to the world as the sky. The stars in his tears and the sun in his smile. He was hand picked from the universe and crafted into the beautiful man he is. My piece of the universe. My boy.
