My Only Child
My only child doesn't have a friend; big boys may bully him-he's just a kid. Here where he's happy without end no coarse words stoned at jeered stupid. Please not the neighbour's boys came to our house and romp around and broke his precious toys. He stayed at home if I'm out to town. Like visitors that visited before with hawkish eyes wondered every room. Till finally disappointed and sour not finding him left us with faces gloom. Then they ceased coming any more I'm glad we're fully free as we should be. Still voices heard inside they swore that of a child none had seen-except me.
