Through gruesome, defeating cries; my mother was born and her first sneeze signalled relief, from the heavy burdens, tiresome journeys and vehement drums! My mother was born in 1962 She brought life and light Upon her fathers household An only child A gift from God. She grew up beautiful, adorable and charming: pictures can tell! In the prime of her youth, She experienced that which, only a girl should, From tactical approaches made possible by fierce suitors; the approaches turning into chaos until one able suitor, out did all the others. My mother settled for the charms of the victorious one; gave in her whole body, mind and soul satisfying the latter, genuinely. My mother now in her near forties: a disfigure woman, old and wrinkled a woman of one definition, "over utilized!" wishes for the return to the days of her prime.
