My Life
I've given up on trying to show The real me, the one they won't know No matter how hard I try to reveal They seem to prefer the fake and unreal It hurts to know that I'm not enough That the real me is considered rough But what can I do, it's just life A struggle that cuts like a knife Maybe it's better to be on my own Where I'm the only one who has grown But sometimes I wish for someone to care To ask me if I'm okay, to show they're there I hate how they make me feel Like I'm the problem like it's not real I used to care for them, or maybe I still do But they make me feel like I'm less than new All I ever wanted was to be seen To be liked for who I am, to feel serene But I guess it's not my time yet Maybe it's better to forget It's funny how they try so hard To be someone they're not, to play the part But I can't lie, I was once the same I now know that it's just a game Their judging looks are what I hate As if they know me, as if it's fate But they don't know the truth inside The years of self-deception I have tried to hide I know I shouldn't feel this way But it's hard to keep the darkness at bay I'm learning to accept who I am To not hide
