My honesty
I am manipulative, I'll admit that. My entire life has been one big con game to get what I want: playing nice and acting how others want until I don't need them anymore. Every word, action, and moment was heavily thought out. Always. It's been one huge game of chess, and I've been the Queen. Powerful, unstoppable, and in charge. I used people as pawns, manipulating them to help me, then I'd leave them to fall. No one even knew they were playing, much less losing. Poker face intact, doing what I needed to get to where I am today. My only goal was to protect the King. That King is my past and future self. It's the little girl who felt scared and alone. I'd do anything to heal her. I'd do anything to make her proud. It's who I'll be in the future and everything I'll have. Education, loved ones, career, money, etc. I'd do anything to set her up for success. And I have. I've lied, cheated, stolen, manipulated, hurt people, and have done many more things to get to where I am today. I'm not proud and I regret a few things, but in all honesty, I wouldn't change much if I had to do it all again. Life is just one big game, and successful people just know how to play.
