My Heart's Keeper
A hollow echo where your laughter used to bloom, A muted world cast in perpetual gloom. My heart, a compass spinning wild and free, Lost it's true north when you ceased to be beside me. I try to navigate these unfamiliar shores, Seek solace in connections at other doors. But every touch feels like a distant star, Compared to the supernova that I felt in your arms. The vibrant hues the world boasted with you, Have faded now into shades of the most somber blue. Each sunrise lacks the brilliance of your gaze Each night, the gentleness of your touch, that never ceases to amaze. This path I walk leads me endlessly astray, For every step just lengthens the long way, Back to the light that you so effortlessly impart, The missing piece, the keeper of my heart. Futile is the search for a comparable gleam, You are the light calling to me in my dreams. Without your presence, radiance takes flight, And I am left wandering in endless night.
