my heart made you home
I left my heart but I knew it wasn't safe, I was recently told, where a ship is most safe, And that's the harbor, somewhere it ain't meant for. Deep dark waters of the sea, perhaps? You got it right, once again, my love. It's never safe anywhere but it felt like home, My heart got flutters, an equivalent of a gift, It got happiness, something to give me a lift, As I sail through this mountainous wave of life. So even as I left my heart, I knew my bet could swing either way And I let it. Because what if? What if I was loved right here for once, What if my efforts to connect paid me back Just this once. What if the waters got clearer as I sailed deeper and deeper? What if it turned out that I actually love sailing Tha my boat can withstand this current without drowning. And low, lower, with my deep breathe. I whisper to myself, That even if I were to drown, It would be way better, To drown, In these very deep waters. Because my heart made here home.
