My First and Last
People often wonder, Who would I choose Between the two of you? But that made me ponder, Are sun and moon Meant to be comparable? One is the warmth I felt at first. If I ever feel like giving up, You cast your shadow To protect me from the worst. Like a marigold in morning light, You guide my soul toward what’s right. Another is my source of calm. After a bad day, The shoulder I’ll rest my head on. Like a white lily drifting down the river, You bring me comfort even in despair. Together, you two made me realize, How important it is, To have a friend by your side. So how can I give a rank, Between the two of you. When you made me feel loved, In ways I didn’t know, I could be loved too? At last, it still makes me wonder, Are stars and oceans Meant to be comparable, When one sparks my courage, And another calms my soul?
