My favourite chapter
“The Chapter, the Loop, and the Piece I Keep” You were a chapter, not the book. A season of cold morning drives, black hoodies, and the kind of laughter that comes when neither of us was trying too hard. There was peace in you, and there were tangles too the sticks, the loops, the rhythm of in-and-out tides that left me wondering if you’d ever stay. I think you cared in your way. But your way was never enough to meet my way. I love like an ocean full, surrounding, holding everything in one breath. You love like a tide sometimes in, sometimes out, never all the way to shore. So I let the loop go. Not because I stopped loving, but because I finally chose myself more. Still, I keep one thing: the memory of feeling at ease that unclenched, unperformed peace in the passenger seat, when I was just me, and you still stayed. I’ll know it when I feel it again. It won’t be because of you. But it will be because of what you taught me.
