My favorite Sin 1.
In the recesses of my soul, a secret I conceal, A sin, so deeply entrenched, it's difficult to reveal, I camouflage it with guile, and hide it from the light, Deceiving myself, with rationalizations, that banish the night I don the cloak of righteousness, and attend the sacred shrine, Yet, in the shadows, I indulge, in the very sin I decry as mine, I preach against its wickedness, with a tongue that's forked and sly, While secretly, I nurture it, and let it thrive, and never die Oh, the duplicity of my heart, that wrestles with this sin, A constant companion, that I've grown accustomed to, and locked within, I cling to it, with desperate fingers, refusing to relinquish its hold, Unaware, that it's the devil's snare, that's slowly taking its toll But what of the consequences, of this sin I choose to hide? Is it doing good to myself, or is it a poison, that's slowly inside? Am I nourishing my soul, or am I destroying it, bit by bit? The questions haunt me, like a specter, that refuses to quit And when I stand before Yah, with my sin, laid bare, and exposed, What will I say, when confronted, with the truth, I've long suppressed? Will I plead for mercy, or will I try to justify, and defend?
