my distraction and addiction
In my pursuit to find solace and heal my wounded heart, I sought refuge in her, hoping she could play the part. But like a drug, she offered temporary relief, Distracting me from the pain, providing a brief reprieve,You left when you had to find your way Yet, my dear , you were my true addiction, A love so deep, it defied all restriction. Her presence was a distraction, a temporary high, But it was you, my love, who made my soul truly fly. For you were the one who captured my heart, And though we're apart, I can't seem to depart. You were the addiction I couldn't let go, Even as I tried to find a way to move on and grow. So here I am, torn between two worlds, Seeking solace in distractions, as my heart unfurls. But deep down, I know, it's you I truly crave, And until I find a way to let go, my heart will remain a slave. We'll find our way, amidst the distractions and pain
