My Depression
The weight is heavy, pressing down, A silent scream, no spoken sound. Twenty-two years, a breath unheard, Lost in the world, a forgotten word. Each morning breaks, a fractured light, Another battle in the endless night. The mirror shows a stranger's eyes, Reflecting fear, and whispered lies. No open door, no welcoming hand, Just shifting sands in a barren land. The dreams I held, now turn to dust, Eroded by a cruel, persistent rust. My family's hope, a fragile thing, A melody my heart can't sing. I long to rise, to break the chain, But inertia holds me, through sun and rain. The world outside, it spins so fast, While I am anchored, built to last In this dark space, where shadows creep, And promises are hard to keep. But even here, a flicker gleams, A whispered echo of forgotten dreams. A fragile spark, a will to fight, To find my way towards the morning light.
