My Demons
Every day it happens again and again, This feeling of self-hate and detest. My reflection is mocking me in the mirror, what more can I do but fake a smile and tell myself "Don't worry bud, this will only last a while." a week passed by, my mind numb and gone. what is this agony, this long suffering? Vacant, desolate and callous. Haunting me like ghosts at night. A month passed by, my mind numb and gone. This intimate feeling of non-existence, it wraps around me. Every night it happens again and again. The same dream, the same pain, Re-living moments meant to be forgotten, Sleepless and sorrowful. Tears stain and leave their marks on my Cheeks. Two weeks passed by, my mind numb and Gone. What is this apathy, this hallucinating? Chasing me in an alternate reality. A quiet and faint reminder, everything I gave Was not enough. These feelings and these thoughts, The numbness and the pain, looking at the sky, hoping to see something Just out of sight, Hiding behind the clouds and the stars. I close my eyes, but my world is still burning. I am weak and I am afraid, my demons Claiming their crowns, Thriving off of my soul, My demons marking their own Occupying my entire being.
