My Dearest Alfie
Dear Alfie I still look for you sometimes, Even though I know you're gone. I still expect to hear your squeaks When another day comes on. Your little paws left tiny prints, Not on the floor—but in my heart. And even death can't take away The love you gave from the start. Ollie misses you every day. Sometimes he seems to look around, As if he's hoping you'll come back, Or hear your happy little sound. Ted is here beside him now, Keeping him company too. But there will only ever be One little guinea pig like you. Your ashes rest inside a box, But that isn't where you stay. You live in every memory, Every smile, every tear, every day. You weren't "just" a guinea pig. You were family. My bundle of joy. My cuddly little friend. My Alfie. And I will love you for the rest of my life. 🐹💛
