My Dad
Dad, You were my best friend, from the very start, Now silence echoes, a tear-filled heart. Our daily chats, a cherished past, Forever silenced, shadows cast. What happened to you? The question stings, A life cut short, on broken wings. The slamming doors, the shouts so loud, Are memories now, within a shroud. I never got to say goodbye, To thank you, Dad, for reaching high. The love you gave, the lessons learned, A legacy cherished, deeply yearned. Each night I write, to ease the pain, To keep your memory, to hold it sane. Though you are gone, your presence stays, In every thought, in every prayer I raise. My love for you, will never cease, A father's love, a lasting peace.
