My Country Mourns
Night veil wraps as she hurries home to her children to whom lingers on her mind and the yet unborn "seize her", she tries to escape as they approaches but got captured Hands and feet chained in their cold hands, the thought of her offspring send a shiver down her spine Her mind with pain and doubt as her captors torture her she clutch unto her hand, her eyes pleading for justices " I can withstand this" she whispers she could no longer cope with the complexities of her life her cries echo as night veil wraps a haunting recital of resignation she trembles with each contraction, the water broke there comes her pain she begged for hiatus but received not the pain became a living thing, leaving her torn she gave up.A DIRGE the cry of the tiny one took over in the night veil My country is broken, she Mourns Her heart is fried in the hot oil of truancy Her soul drench in the boiling pot of immorality they torture her in the hot furnace of corruption she is flog with the whip of injustices yet her spirit remains unbroken she is unrest, hovering around seeking for justices as she watches her children on the street in the cold hands of her captors with not enough to eat Her children turn against each other Abubakar
