My Confession
I’m sorry I met you in a season when I was already shattered. Sorry that I mistook silence for love, and let my quiet turn into cracks— cracks that grew into lies that were never meant to hurt you. My lies were meant to hold us together, meant to keep the peace because you were already carrying the weight of the world. I didn’t want my fears, my insecurities, to become another storm you had to survive. I’m sorry I loved you so hard that I forgot to love myself at all. Sorry I disappeared into my own head, into old traumas that reopened like wounds. Sorry I buried myself in motherhood until I couldn’t find the woman I used to be. I lost myself trying to protect you. And when the protection I thought I was giving became the very sword that cut us apart, it showed me just how far gone I was— how desperately I twisted myself into the version of me I thought you found perfect. I’m sorry. Not because I didn’t love you enough— but because I loved you so much that I forgot how to be me.
