My Biggest Mistake
I gave my heart to someone who never cared, Loved them deeply, while they never even dared. I made them my reason, my morning, my night, Blind to the truth that hid in plain sight. I waited for messages that never came, Cried in silence, yet took all the blame. I called it love — pure and true, But love should never make you feel so blue. They were my dream, my gentle prayer, Yet I was invisible — they were never there. I kept giving pieces of me away, Hoping they'd see me, just once, one day. But all I became was a memory faint, A heart once whole, now cracked with paint. My biggest mistake — I see it now clear, I made someone my world, who was never sincere. Now I gather my heart, piece by piece, Letting the pain fade into peace. For from this wound, I’ve learned to be — The love I gave, now belongs to me.
