My Better Half
I trace the shadows where you once stood, A place of laughter, now quiet as wood. The echoes linger, soft and low, Your voice a memory, a ghostly glow. Half of my heart was yours to keep, Now it wanders, lost in the deep. The warmth we shared, now cold as stone, In a crowded room, I stand alone. The days stretch long, the nights much more, Time's cruel hand keeps closing the door. I reach for you in the fading light, But grasp at silence, a haunting sight. Once, we were two halves of a whole, Now I’m a wanderer with a fractured soul. The world spins on, yet I stay still, An empty shell, a void to fill. If love could build a bridge to you, I’d cross the stars, the endless blue. But here I remain, a broken path, Forever seeking my better half.
