My Best would never Suffice.
My Love, in the depths of my soul, I find myself drowning in sadness untold. No matter my efforts, they never suffice, Leaving me feeling inadequate, cold as ice. I've poured my heart out, given my all, Yet it seems I forever stumble and fall. I yearn to be enough, to make him see, But my best is not what he needs from me. Perhaps I should pretend, feign my love, Suppressing my true emotions, rising above. I'll keep the peace, remain silent and still, Hiding the pain that my heart cannot heal. Today, I granted the permission to let go, To release the love that my heart used to know. Though it breaks me, I'll set him free, For his happiness, I'll let him be. But in the quiet corners of my weary mind, I'll forever treasure the love we left behind. For even if my best was not enough for him, I'll cherish the moments that once made us dream.
