My Argument With Jagannath
Last night beneath the silent sky, I asked my Lord the reason why. “O Jagannath, do you hear my cry, Or do my prayers just pass you by?” I left my medicines by my side, With wounded faith and hidden pride. “If you are there in Sree Mandir’s light, Show me your grace before morning bright.” A stubborn child, a bhakt unsure, Yet calling the Lord who is kind and pure. “Prove you listen, prove you care, Show me your mercy if you are there.” The night was long, my heart was loud, My thoughts like storms within a cloud. But somewhere deep, a whisper came— “Child, I always know your pain.” Morning arrived with gentle ray, And blessings bloomed along the way. I smiled and knew, without a doubt, My Jagannath had worked it out. My mother softly said to me, “He walks with you, though you can’t see. He never lets his children fall, Your Lord is watching over all.” So foolish Sibu bowed his head, Ashamed of the angry words he said. Yet Jagannath smiled from heaven above For a child’s argument is also love. Jay Jagannath.
