MOURNING MORNING
In the stillness of the morning, I wake to a world in mourning, The sun rises with a heavy heart, As we all play our part. The birds sing a somber tune, As we face another day too soon, The flowers droop in sorrow, As we face an uncertain tomorrow. The sky is painted in shades of gray, As we mourn what has slipped away, The wind whispers a melancholy song, As we try to stay strong. But in the midst of our grief, There is a glimmer of relief, For in the mourning morning light, We find the strength to fight. We may be broken and bruised, But we will not be confused, For in the darkness, we will find, A new dawn, a new kind. So let us mourn this morning, And let our hearts be adorning, With hope and love and grace, As we navigate this difficult space.
