Mourning Grandma
In fond embrace of innocence, we swung, Whispering dreams through strings, where shadows clung. With hearts alight, in childhood's hopeful stride, Aching within, the child I'm forced to hide. Would my reflection match younger eyes' view, Or weep for the storms life has put me through? Grandma's battle, the losses so profound, Have sculpted, alas, a soul, bleak and bound. Laughter stifled, as sorrow pulls me down, A mournful melody, tears freely crown.
