Mother Nature's a Bitch
She truly is. One minute it's- "Enjoy my fragrant flowers! Feel my delightful breeze. Isn’t the sunrise-divine?" Making you feel intrinsically satiated. Then BAM! A wildfire swallows L.os Angeles. Flooding because it rained A little too enthusiastically. Earthquakes rearrange your home and your life plan. And the oppressive, sweat-inducing, relentless, dry heat, is Followed by a blizzard that traps you In your own damn house for a week. She’s got mood swings worse than a teenager Who just discovered existential dread. We build our little homes, Plant our little gardens, Make our little plans, And she emits a deep, rumbling laugh That sounds suspiciously like thunder. Then sends us a tornado to flatten it all, just to show us who’s really in charge.
