Mother
I'm told to respect and honor Mother, To trust, from my sisters and brothers, Trust isn't demanded, Nor is Respect They're deserved. I grew up from House to Home, Mother's was a House, A place where I could lay and sleep, Where I was fed and would eat. Father's was a Home, A place where I knew I never was alone. There is where I played, Unlike Mother's I slept instead of wept. Home, there were no screams, No cries, No heavy sighs, Never any lies I still credit my Mother, She did 'raise' me, Showed me what not to be, But you see, Father is who I aspire to be.
