"More than once"
So much time, I've missed you, I long so much to be by your side, I wish I could have held you, Though, of course, I would have never let you go. Those beautiful days, With affection, you used to say That nothing would part us, Though I knew one day you would leave. How could I not believe those beautiful lips, As they poured poetry with my name, Dissolving me into precise words, Adoring all of your smiles? Yearning for that soft voice To sing once more, To love me once more, To call me once more. You are gone, and yet with you Remains that man who once Adored you with all his being, And more than once Wanted to express More than his words could ever say. And more than once, His weary eyes searched for you, And more than once, His words meant nothing to you. And more than once, He wrote you poems, Even knowing they would never reach you, Even knowing your love no longer belonged to him. And all because... More than once, He found himself fantasizing, With the gentle glow of your eyes,n With the warmth of the way You once loved him. And so... If we ever see each other, Though my gaze will avoid you, Seeing my body tremble will be enough For you to realize that... More than once, I dreamed of seeing you again
