More Than I Can Say
"Do you love me?" I asked a hundredth time that day You smiled and patiently told me "I love you more than I can say" I responded with a giggle You tuck my hair behind my ear And in that moment I marvelled how you quiet all my fears My mind is usually chaotic Ugly thoughts just wander and roam But when you're here beside me I know I finally found my home I found my peace and solace A comfort I needed all this time And I may not be a poet But with you, I found my rhyme "Now it's my turn to ask," You whispered after a while And I wondered why you're nervous Despite your ever charming smile It all happened in slow motion How you fell in your one knee With a new found determination You asked, "Will you marry me?" I stare at the ring on my finger It's been three years since that day "Do you love me?" I heard you whisper "I love you more than I can ever say"
