moonlit Saturday night
The moon was out and bright On a warm Saturday night Not a cloud in sight But butterflies inside Fluttering as I fluster We sat in the grass Sharing stories and laughs Suddenly I felt sparks fly Before my eyes And then you put your hand in mine And I started to melt away Desperately I hoped for your kiss Then you granted my wish I was trembling, stumbling, and stuttering On that moonlit Saturday night I was so starry eyed Feeling hopeful inside You looked at me while I was breathless, stunned and Trying to get my words right The sun started to rise Above the bluebonnet hillside I leaned into your arms And suddenly I felt ever so calm And then you put your hand in mine And I started to melt away Desperately I hoped for your kiss Then you granted my wish I was trembling, stumbling, and stuttering On that moonlit Saturday night Suddenly I Felt the reality of what could not be It was like a thunderstorm raining Inside so shattering... Then I got inside your car And we drove away I was still trembling inside But I was still in a blissful daze I know that I won't ever feel this way again Like this moonlight Saturday night
